History of Garrison Dam:

Garrison Dam Project Was started in 1947 & Completed in 1954.  Nine Million truckloads of dirt & 1 1/2 million cubic yards of concrete were needed to build this dam on the Missouri River.  Lake Sakakawea was thus formed with a shoreline of 1350 miles.

History on the Boat Ramp Work Completed In 2004

* Ramp Elevation: Bottom Of New Ramp 1800.

*Concrete Under Water 140'.

*Depth At The End Of Ramp 15' At Lake Elevation 1815.

As Sportsmen And Lake Users We All Need To Extend Our Thanks To The N.D. State Parks & Rec. Dept. , The U.S.  Army Corps Of Engineers, And The N.D. Game & Fish Dept. For Providing The Expertise & Funds Needed To Complete This Ramp Project.
